| Marysia Burr |
|
Marysia Burr's artistic focus has included the portrayal of human figures
as well as landscapes. Her style has sought to resolve the intrinsic dichotomy
between realistic and abstract art. In the blending of these two approaches to art,
Marysia begins with a realistic approach to her subjects and then introduces the
counterpoint of abstract shapes and colors.
"I have always been fascinated with motion. The beauty of any form of dance - it's grace, sensitivity and clearness of movement - fascinates me and elevates me above everday life. The expression of emotion gives the viewer a glimse into the soul of the dance. Dance is a language of art, which needs no translation. Through my own art, I seek to express my experience with human emotion, to portray that emotion with shadow and light. My paintings are a personification, finding elements of nature in the human condition." - Marysia Burr |
