| "Stampede" by Guillaume Azoulay
|
| Limited Edition Serigraph on Paper #47/75 |
Self taught Guillaume Azoulay has achieved international recognition as an extremely
gifted and successful artist. The brillance of Azoulay's art centers on his ability to
utilize the purity of line to create powerful illusions of sculptural volumes in motion.
Out of an intricate network of line emerges a nude stirring languidly or a dancing stallion
so alive that one can see him shifting his weight from hoof to hoof. Closer examination
reveals that this "maze" is composed of hundreds of lines drawn with the precision and grace
of a master. His unique self taught style conveys strong illusions of fluid motion.
His works are found in the collections of the late former President Ronald Reagan,
Francis Mittreand, the late Anwar Sadat, King Hassan II of Morocco and Prince Karim Aga Khan.
One of his most notable accomplishments is the fact that Azoulay was the youngest artist
to be accepted in the permanent archives of the Musee du Louvre in Paris
